PHOTOWALK JAVEA - FEBRUARY 20TH, 2014

It was another lovely day on the coast. I took the dogs for a walk in the back of a farm close to my house. I had to take some almond bloom shots and a bee popped into one photo. I got a great portrait of Rocky, but Tody is so difficult to photography. He always looks goofy ;)

VALENCIA PHOTO WALK * FEBRUARY 16TH, 2014

It was wet one up in Valencia today but only enough to create great lighting for some photographic highlights. Grey days are the best for shooting to capture forms and architecture. Since the background is already grey, filling the image into a grey scale or sepia tone makes the image really detailed and interesting.

We toured the old town on route to the National Ceramics Museum. It was a stately palace in its day - el Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas and the owners were into collecting anything fancy and delightful. The Palace is a treat to the eye and a great place for art students and photographers - photography without flash was allowed. We had a blast in this palace museum and made friends with the guards, who showed me a secret elevator to the third floor.

Then we went over the fabulous Fine Arts Museum for a browse of their collection of Joaquín Sorolla's paintings. Here is housed much of Sorolla's student and early works showcases his obvious incredible mastery of vision as a young age. Again, photography without flash was allowed.

Then for a perfect late lunch menu at O'Peregrino - and home again.
